The Convergence of Radiologic Data, 3D Printing, Medical Illustration, and Advanced Visualization

The presentation will focus on how Mayo Clinic is taking segmented radiologic data, texture mapping 3D patient specific data in medical illustration to make enduring educational material for 3D printing, Virtual and Augmented reality educational platforms. Instead of highlighting one offs it is rather how the enterprise is leveraging institutional investments to become the leaders in immersive medical education. Also highlighted will be the work Mayo Clinic is doing in experiential learning and immersive technologies combining best in class physician educators, clinical data, medical illustration, texture mapping, rigging, animations, digital twinning, design teams, and human computer interface designers to create paradigm shifting educational environments to scale across the largest medical training system in the country.
