Project Description

This illustration demonstrates the general steps of cataract removal through phacoemulsification followed by placement of a clear intraocular lens. The focus is placed on clear, well-rendered images rather than text due to the surgeon audience’s prior anatomy education. The intended impact is to encourage cataract removal through this method since it can be completed quickly, requires no stitches, and does not require complete sedation. This method may be safer and more comfortable for older patients and those with conditions that complicate anesthesia procedures.
