Project Description

The world’s largest amphibians, the giant salamanders, are facing the risk of extinction largely due to anthropogenic causes. This infographic is intended to educate a general audience about the ecological importance of these solitary giants, their biology, behavior, and the threats these species are facing in hopes to further conservation efforts. The learning objectives of the assignment included the synthesis of research and data on a topic themed around an environmental issue and raising public awareness. To communicate this information, graphics and iconography were created to showcase elements of morphology, size differentiation between species, geographic distribution, and the major threats attributed to their decline in population.
