Bill’s intricate watercolor painting uses an unusual point of view to display the many details of ophthalmic anatomy, in a sculptural way. His flair for contemporary illustration techniques is evident.

Bill attended the Georgia program, graduating in 1966. He was the fourth Director of the Academic Medical Illustration Program at University of Texas, Dallas, serving during the 1970’s. During his tenure he promoted a more commercial approach to medical illustration, and hired a diversity of faculty members to come in and bring fresh perspectives to the curriculum.
