William “Bill” Stenstrom had a long and distinguished career in medical illustration. He was an instructor at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, professor of Opthalmology and Medical Illustration at Southwestern School of Medicine in Dallas, and he retired as Chairman Emeritus of the graduate program at the Medical College of Georgia. His atlas on the eye and retina earned international recognition.

Bill was a 2-term AMI President (1974-75, 1975-76) and a 1994 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient.
