Frank Armitage worked with Disney studios for many years, and was a designer for the 1966 film ‘Fantastic Voyage’.  His first appearance with the AMI was in 1964, when he lectured on Drawing for the Animation Camera.

This painting represents a distinct departure from traditional ways of depicting the body—it moves into the realm of landscape, yet retains the accuracy that is the MI hall mark.  Frank’s philosophy: “The concept of informative beauty is a goal worth striving for…” describes his willingness to push the boundaries of current practice.
