Craig Gosling served as director of the full-service medical illustration department at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis from 1972 until retirement in 2001. He led his team in projects that utilized a variety of media, including the creation of accurate 3d anatomical models. “Gynny,” a teaching model of the female pelvis, includes interchangeable parts to simulate a variety of palpable pathologies.
Craig’s gratitude and admiration towards the AMI is evident in his service in leadership roles. As AMI President (1992-93,) Craig focused on revising membership requirements to promote growth in the organization. His pen and ink portfolio, now part of University of Illinois-Chicago graduate program collection, was a generous donation to inspire current and future students.
