Project Description

This illustration is featured within a review article that discusses the current evidence on the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RA occurs in about 1 per 200 people worldwide, but significant progress has been made over the past 20 years in understanding the disease pathophysiology, and therefore earlier and more effective treatment strategies are now available.

The purpose of the figure is to clearly depict the current hypothesis of the pathogenic aspects of RA and different targets for current and possible future treatments for patients with RA.
