Project Description

BSI won a bid to create a canine heartworm model that includes both lenticular printing and 3D raised relief printing. Adding these dimensional elements was an easy way to create a unique product with interactivity without the need to create a custom 3D model. The pull-out tabs contain all the necessary information to educate the pet owner about the heartworm cycle and disease prevention. Behind the tabs is more advanced educational information, geared toward the veterinarian. A veterinary doctor may not perform open heart surgery on dogs, but these visuals of heartworm complications will educate the doctor about the damaging effects and enforce the necessity of prevention. The lenticular printing shows four stages of progressive heartworm growth. The client wanted to tell the story of heartworm being a disease that starts in the pulmonary arteries, not the heart! So the heartworms, start growing from the smallest pulmonary arteries and grow toward the heart.
