Project Description
Tourists flock to tropical shores to see glowing blooms of Noctiluca scintillans, or “sea sparkle”. Despite its renown, the 3D structure of this organism has seldom been visualized. I sculpted this cell to showcase the morphology of N. scintillans to a lay audience, highlighting features that give these cells their distinct appearance. This illustration is intended to accompany a text about protist diversity.
