Project Description

The Research Information Center is the public face of research for the Mayo Clinic. The animation is intended to demonstrate to Clinic visitors the various multi-disciplinary platforms of basic science research within the Mayo Clinic Center for Biomedical Discovery (CBD).

The internal client’s main directives were to keep it simple and approachable yet engaging enough to interest passersby.  Also important was to show the interconnectedness of the multi-disciplinary platforms, achieved by the interconnected balls that introduce each topic.

The animation is a section within a larger piece intended to briefly and quickly relay to visitors Mayo Clinic’s commitment to basic science research. Much of that specific messaging was covered in video segments on either side of the animation. The purpose of the animation section was to be a concise, visually engaging, broad scope overview of the specific platforms of focus of the CBD. (*Cell Aging was removed to meet time requirements.)
