Project Description

Utilizing research the student was to a create a piece that accurately depicts a cellular process as well as adhere to DK Publishing standards for a two-page spread. The student chose to show how blood clots on a cellular level within a vein and how that blood clot or thrombus travels through the venous system into the lungs, becoming lodged in the pulmonary artery. The piece was meant to help educate an audience of high school and older on how blood clots and causes a pulmonary embolism. The piece was done using traditional pencil drawings that where brought into Photoshop and rendered, layout done in Illustrator. Choices like using a whole figure where made to make the piece visually engaging.
