Project Description
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung disease that encompasses chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It has multiple contributors (inflammation, oxidative stress, and protease and antiprotease imbalance) that cause the multitude of pathological changes in morphology and physiology in the bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli. This 2-page illustration aims to visualize those factors and changes in a way that is clear, easy-to-understand, and visually dynamic and engaging. Comparisons between healthy and COPD-affected anatomical sites are depicted.
