Project Description

Cholesterol Good and Bad is an explainer video for the public about how cholesterol can affect cardiovascular health. The video aims to interest the public by pointing out both the benefits and dangers of blood cholesterol. It finishes with a public health message of what people can do to prevent high cholesterol and its repercussions. The video was made in conjunction with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), and promotes MedlinePlus as a trusted source of health information. Explainer videos are beneficial for outreach because of their engagement and shareability, as well as their accessibility for the disabled and low-literacy groups. The video complies with Section 508 Accessibility Standards. This work is supported by the National Institutes of Health, National Library of Medicine.
