Project Description

The intended purpose of this illustration was to show how “slug-slime” has inspired a synthetic hydrogel tape. The image starts with the slug in the upper left and leads the viewers eye into the image with it’s “slime.” Color was used to tie each part of the figure together and demonstrate how the fibers in the hydrogel bind to the bridging polymers (similar to slime). A more diagrammatic approach to the tissue was taken, to schematically demonstrate how the 3 substances can be bound together.
