Project Description
There are many misconceptions around antibiotics, which often leads to skepticism and misinformed decisions. We designed this animation in order to educate hospital inpatients and their families about antibiotics and their impact on bacteria and the human microbiome. In this animation, we try to clarify common misconceptions about antibiotics, such as categorizations of “strong” or “weak”, and what constitutes as allergic reactions to antibiotics. Furthermore, we connect these concepts to explain why accurate communication with one’s healthcare provider is crucial to creating an optimized treatment plan. As this animation will be available online for sharing, we designed the characters in this animation to be approachable and engaging in order to maximize accessibility for inpatients and caregivers across a wide range of ages and literacy levels.
