This talk will be about how to prepare for multimedia work in an international or low-resource setting, setting expectations for this type of work, and implementing communication practices when working with culturally diverse populations. Tips on how to anticipate equipment needs per project and how to pack / travel with equipment will be addressed. The talk will also focus on how to maximize time spent in the field to effectively add cultural diversity to illustrations and medical resources.

Speaker Bio

Erica Chin is a medical illustrator and instructional technologist at Jhpiego, a non-profit global health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University. She produces medical education materials for international health care providers in low-resource settings in various medias including video, print, and web.
