Video is the fastest growing media shared online today. But can we use it effectively to spread health messages and point consumers to trusted health resources? This is the first year that MedlinePlus is experimenting with online explainer videos in an attempt to extend its consumer health audience reach through the National Library of Medicine. In this talk, we will overview trends in online video and report on our own experiences from throughout the year, including adventures in analytics, copyright conundrums, and accessibility aspirations. Speaker Bio

Jeff Day is a research fellow at the National Library of Medicine, working to share fun, accessible health messages with the public. He graduated from the Art as Applied to Medicine program at Johns Hopkins University, and has a medical degree from Case Western Reserve University.
