The last seven years of Zina’s life have been devoted largely to learning everything about kidney transplants. She’s learned how to interact with transplant centers, doctors, nurses, support groups, and potential donors in order to secure a transplant for her husband. She is happy to report he was transplanted in May 2016. The strongest lesson learned is the importance of communication inside and outside the system. The AMI’s group of professionals is uniquely equipped to navigate such a landscape.
